This mortar is one of the most unique pieces of ordnance found in the 2003 cache of arms purchased by IMA from the kingdom of Nepal. Country of origin is unknown, however the quality of the bronze, grade of casting, and style of touchhole lead us to believe it is perhaps Danish. The mortar is marked around the touchhole with a traditional Nepalese design but it was common practice of the Gurkhas to remove any western
