1st Division commander George Morell also lost his post because he testified on Porter's behalf at the court martial hearings (the War Department for a long time after the Porter trial was reluctant to promote officers in the V Corps)

The barrel jacket bears a clear serial number 092a

which had the unfortunate job of assaulting the heavily defended Breeds Hill

This is a very nice Great War Imperial German Field Cap (Feldmtze or Krtzche) for a Train Guard Battalion. It is constructed of grey green "Felgrau" wool with dark blue cap band and dark blue piping along with an interior linen lining. The front of the cap bears two Black, White and Red Reichskokarde (Imperial Cockade) on the front of the crown, the top of which was recently sewn back on. We are unsure of why this
