Allen, 2nd Battalion, The Queen's (Royal West Surrey) Regiment, who was killed in action on the First Day of the Battle of the Somme 1914 15 Star (4604 Pte. J. M. Allen. The Queen's R.), extremely fine. James Morgan Allen was born in 1896 at Borough, Southwark and enlisted into The Queen's Regiment in February 1915. He served in France with the 2nd Battalion from 1 June 1915 and was killed in action on 1 July
