directing the preparation and distribution of badges to the officers and men of the Navy and Marine Corps of the United States who participated in engagements and campaigns deemed worthy of such commemoration

A Rare Second War Garrison Battalion Officer’s Cap Badge, 1942 Auction Archive Bradt was discharged upon demobilizationThe badge presents a crowned bronze oval inscribed GARRISON BATTALION with the obverse center presenting a white metal overlay of three towers, the base presents a banner with the inscription STAND FAST, the reverse presents two lugs at 3 and 9 oclock, very minor wear, lovely patina, in near mint condition. Footnote: The Garrison Battalions were composed of individuals deemed unfit to serve overseas. The units were created on June 16, 1942.
