This is a truly excellent condition example of a Colt Navy percussion revolver manufactured in 1860
Intended for issue to Junior Officer's and specialized forces such as Pioneers and Sappers this model was produced with the old series side lock (action) which resembled having been converted from Flintlock and in 1842 was replaced by the more commonly encountered Lovell's style lock

This is a nice example of the Remington M 1875 Single Action Army Revolver. It still has its original 7 1 2" barrel in place, but has had a custom front sight made from an 1875 dated penny. It comes complete with a very nice period Gun Cartridge belt and holster. The rounded shape of the penny sight would reduce the chances of getting snagged on the holster. This model was the first military sized, cartridge revolver
