There are also numerous small dents on both sides of the scabbard body
but this is really a top class bore for a percussion revolver
The left base is also marked with maker Kern of ARRAU

This is a lovely Italian officers uniform for a Sottotenente serving with the Bersaglieri as is denoted by his Crimson gorget patches. Bersaglieri were originally skirmishers, scouts and sharpshooters of the Royal Sardinian Army. Members were chosen for their shooting skills and stamina.
