This is a beautiful example of the British THIRD MODEL Brown Bess musket, commonly referred to a the India Pattern because it was a virtual copy of the British East India Company's 1771 Windus Flintlock musket that used a 39" barrel. The War with Revolutionary France that led to the 20 years of War with Napoleon Bonaparte forced Britain to update its armaments for fear of Invasion. The third pattern Brown Bess had a
