Constructed of a silvered bronze alloy, the obverse consisting of a disc bearing a central pair of skis overlaid by a German national eagle clutching an SA Gruppe Hochland insignia in the form of an edelweiss defaced by an SA logo, flanked by an inscription of DER FHRER DER SA GRUPPE HOCHLAND (THE LEADER OF SA GRUPPE HOCHLAND), in turn circumscribed by an inscription of NS WINTERKAMPFSPIELE VILLACH
