He was educated at Sudbury High School (1929-1932)
the gold-coloured text on the spine having worn off
the ends meet at the rear and are riveted together

Instituted 30 January 1938. (1938 1943 issue). Constructed of cupal, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a double sided oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the top and bottom by ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised Reichsarbeitsdienst (Reich Labour Service RAD) insignia, the reverse bearing an inscription of FR TREUE DIENSTE IM REICHSARBEITSDIENST
