Constructed of gilded bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a monogram of Wilhelm I, the reverse with a gorget style shield bearing an inscriptions of FR TREUEN DINEST IN EINEM FELDZUGE (FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN THE CAMPAIGN), unmarked, measuring 29. 77 mm in diameter, weighing 13. 9 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
