A Latin cross paty with concave arm ends constructed of bronze with multi coloured enamels, the obverse arms of blue and white enamel with a central white disc bearing a black enamel swastika, encompassed by a bronze border inscribed with DER DEUTCHEN MUTTER (TO THE GERMAN MOTHER), with sun rays in the quadrants between the arms, the reverse is plain with an etched institution dte of 16 DEZEMBER 1938 and a signature
