This is an engraved brass mounted flintlock pistol with 9. 35" iron barrel bearing the maker's mark in silver and the lock signed with the name: JOBST A LINZ Sebastian Jobst worked from 1732 to 1769 see Stockel Volume One, page 593. The wood stock is carved to enhance the engraved mounts, a peach that might well have seen service in the French and Indian War or what in Europe
