This large pear from Michigan is exceptionally beautiful, with amazing reddish purple fruits that hang like jewels from the tree. The fruit is sweet and flavorful. It thrives in the Pacific Northwest and in much of the nation and shows some resistance to cedar trellis rust. It ripens midseason, in September here in the PNW. It blooms late, category 3, and is a good pollinizer. USDA Zone: 4
