This is a very nice service worn all original example of a German Model 40 Steel helmet, as issued to the Wehrmacht Heer (army). This stamped sheet steel construction helmet retains much of its original lightly textured "panzergrau" paint. It also looks like it was repainted once, as you can see areas of missing paint under the current top coat. The left side of the helmet features a worn Heer eagle decal, which is
