Germany, Third Reich. A Mint Order of the German Eagle, II/III Class Cross, by Gebrüder Godet Republic of designer marked "DW" (David Wynne)(Deutscher Adlerorden Kreuz II. Klasse III. Klasse). Instituted 1 May 1937. (1939 1943 issue). Constructed of gilded silver with enamels, consisting of a Maltese Cross with white enameled arms joined through the quadrants by NSDAP style German national eagles clutching wreathed mobile swastikas on white enameled discs, the twelve oclock arm topped by a ribbed fan and eyelet with a ribbed ring retaining an original confectioned neck ribbon, the eyelet
