This is a good example of a circa 1944 45 fighting knife by Utica Cutlery Co., of Utica, New York. These knives were maxed commercially during the later phases of WWII, and were intended to be private purchase items for servicemen. These knives are near identical to the US Marine Corps U. S. Navy MKII Fighting Knife. The ricasso is marked U. S. UTICA CUT. CO.. The handle is marked KARLSEN. The finish is well retained
