a veteran of the First World War who served on the Western Front from 31 July 1914 until 8 November 1918
and having served sixteen months in the French theatre
Germany, Luftwaffe. An Officer’s Breast Eagle GTRexclude Manitoba Regiment(Luftwaffe Brustadler fr Offiziere). Constructed of blue grey wool, the obverse bearing a hand embroidered silver aluminum wire Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse retaining a mostly intact paper liner, unmarked, measuring 80 mm (w) x 45 mm (h), demonstrating oxidation throughout the wire, in uniform removed and fair condition.
