It is used in a two step process in conjunction with the No. 986 Trim Guide. First, insert the trim guide beneath the knife and trim off the bulk of the material on a first pass. Afterward, remove the trim guide and make a second pass with the knife only. The fine cut of the second pass finishes flushes with the
