Constructed of silver with gilt and multi coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of an eight pointed radiant star with ribbed rays, bearing a central red enameled medallion overlaid by a blue enameled Cross of Saint Andrew, with gilt Latin script initials S. A. P. R. joining the quadrants for Sanctus Andreas Patronus Russiae (Saint Andrew, Patron of Russia), situated within a blue enameled ring
