Farthing, who (then a Colonel) commanded Hickam Field in Hawaii from November to December 1941, and during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. He served as a Brigadier General from April 19th, 1942 through the end of World War II, before being promoted to Major General in 1949. The flag measures 37 x
