Instituted March 26th, 1939. Two piece construction of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by mobile swastika, overlaid by a swooping Luftwaffe eagle clutching a pair of lightning bolts, the reverse with two visible rivets securing the obverse eagle in place, with a slightly raised barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round
