Description

I returned home with a pup which produced a slowly offsetting specimen to 3' tall x 3' wide that we are pleased to finally introduce in 2014

hence the name 'New Lion'

complimented by bright red petioles

Expect a decent-sized colony as the rhizomes slowly spread (2' wide in 5-7 years)

Tennessee at 2031' elevation, where we found a population growing in an old roadside dump site alongside the likes of Hydrangea arborescens. This population had both purple, yellow, and intermediate flower color forms growing together. So far, all of our seedlings have flowered purple.
